Does UK really offer a program for Filipino Nurses?
Apparently, there is an agency in the Philippines that can assist Filipino nurses in acquiring further qualification/study in the UK. This would legally allow them to work simultaneously as a caregiver in the UK. However, according to the news, the tuition will cost £2,500 not to mention the monthly costs of living in the UK (£300-£500). This should be taken with caution for a few reasons. As a citizen here in the UK, living here is quite expensive. Even British people acknowledge this. There’s no doubt about it. If that particular agency, does not guarantee you a job here in the UK before you leave the country, it’s quite worrying. Unless, you’ve got a few thousand pounds in your pocket.
I heard recently that some of the Filipinos working as a caregiver/carer (those who only holds a work permit) were being offered not to renew their contract and being asked to go home. This is to give priority to the workers coming over within the European Union for which UK is legally required to comply. This was also true in some Filipino nurses (non UK resident/citizen) due to the recent financial problems that some NHS hospitals are experiencing.

hello pinoyunited!! I’ve attended an orientation regarding this program and the agency’s name is ISA 4U. I’m really interested to get their service and have this kind of opportunity to work abroad. You’re right, I’ll be risking a lot of money amounting to 530,000 pesos inclusive of airfare, visa processing, video interview, processing fee and tuition fee. But I’m considering a lot of things here such as the cost of living in UK and the degree itself. I mean given the fact that there’s a guaranteed job for me and I’ll be able to finished a degree that is internationally recognized,, my major concern is would I’ll be able to get a working visa after the course or (much better) would I’ll be able to get a residency status? Please guide me…your answer will be very much appreciated…thanks!! God bless!!
