Gian Carlos has Haemophilia
If you have watched the video interview of Gian Carlos, he claimed that he is haemophiliac. Haemophilia is a genetic disorder that makes him prone to bleeding. It is more common in males than females but the disorder itself is only manifested almost entirely with males. This means that the female can be a carrier of the defective gene but highly unlikely to manifest an increase tendency to bleed.
Haemophilia is mostly hereditary but interestingly, the gene for the disorder is inherited not from the father but from the mother who is unlikely to manifest the symptoms despite carrying the genetic disorder. Whether Gian Carlos son will be a full blown haemophiliac or not, it is something to watch out for. Haemophilia involves a defect in the X chromosome. If you had been a good student:) when you took up Biology, you would have known that females possess two X chromosome, hence, there is another one to “cover up” the disorder. Another reason for girls to be proud of.
