Credit Card or Debit Card Fraud
Posted on February 22nd, 2008 by PinoyUnited
There had been increasing stories of peoples credit card or debit card being cloned and is then used to withdraw cash. A friend’s debit card here in the UK had just been cloned and was used to withdraw money from a cash machine (ATM) in Tunisia. It is important to ensure that you guard your card as well as your personal details a lot more carefully to reduce the risk of this incident from happening.
Some things to take note of to reduce the risk of credit card or debit card fraud.
- Do not show your card details to anyone
- A plastic sleeve placed in the ATM card slot may be used by fraudster. Ensure that you check the cash machine for any presence this. -Do not use and report it to the bank.
- Guard your P.I.N.
- Never reveal your P.I.N. to anyone
- Ensure your P.I.N. is a strong one.
- Never write your P.I.N. anywhere. Memorise it.
- A card protection plan will cover you from any fraud claims
