The truth about Idetrorce

I received this comment:

“Subject: Idetrorce
very interesting, but I don’t agree with you
Idetrorce”

in my article about boy bastos. The comment itself did not get caught by anti-spam software. And because it was not unreasonable and appear to relate with the subject matter I posted, I just left it. I got a little curious though with the rather strange name, hence, I decided to google it.

This notice is probably a little too late as it was over a couple of months ago when that particular comment was received. But, it appeared that there was considerable “issues” about the commenter. Some had postulated from the same site:

Probably a spammer testing his botnet with a unique comment string. Later on the spam software will crawl pages previously posted to, matching up the string “idetrorce” to find blogs which don’t delete spam comments and mark those as fresh targets for new spam runs.

For this reason, I’ve decided to remove it.

This is also a notice, that although expression of opinion is openly welcome here via comments, this Filipino Website, Pinoy United Magazine, does not allow any hatred or racist comments. Please visit the site’s terms for full details of the policy.

World Wide Web or Wild Wild West

There was an interesting article posted in reyna elena. Although it was highly unlikely that it was referring to myself, it was something to ponder upon.

I remember I posted an issue about blogging, to express my opinion on what, I think, was responsible blogging. I asked myself now, am I claiming to be righteous by posting this? Is blogging about what you think is right, as well as, commenting in other blogs in a manner that would not offend anyone, wrong? And if I had made any offending comments, that was completely not the intention. I even posted an apology here. Although, I do not intend to sound boring, as I know I have some sense of humour, surely, there is a clear line between being funny and being offensive and rude.

I had been clear from the start what the purpose of my site is. And how lovely would it be to network with fellow Pinoys. Just a reflection. Have a lovely week.

Password for Life?

Jaypeeonline wrote an article - http://jaypeeonline.net/technology/how-secure-is-your-password which challenge everyone about how secure their chosen password is. The use of a strong password could not be emphasized enough. A password enabled system is a must in any situations that contains any level of secured data. One is considered strong if it contains both letters and numbers used with a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters. A good exception would be the PIN you use with your cards where it only allow numbers as well as limited by only 4 digits. This is true in most of the switch/debit/credit cards here in the UK.
